Utimaco launched Quantum Protect

Utimaco is a German company, based in Aachen.

Quantum Protect extends the u.trust General Purpose HSM Se-Series with proven and standardized Post Quantum Cryptography algorithms for a secure transition into the quantum era, featuring robust lattice-based and hash-based algorithms. For upfront evaluation and testing, a free simulator is available.

Quantum Protect is the application package that adds Post Quantum Cryptography to the u.trust General Purpose HSM Se-Series. It offers the lattice-based algorithms ML-KEM and ML-DSA and the stateful hash-based signature schemes LMS and XMSS (incl. their multitree variants HSS and XMSS-MT). More algorithms such as SLH-DSA are on the roadmap.

The solution is designed crypto-agile, so Quantum Protect can be added to the HSM via an in-field upgrade – no HSM exchange needed. The free simulator allows integration and evaluation testing of algorithms before deployment.
